Models Covered: DGA2-ACDCBLW-12K, DGA1-ACDCBLW-18K, DGA1-ACDCBLW-24K

Manufacturer: Ningbo Deye Inverter Technology Co., Ltd

Application: The DGA2-ACDCBLW-12K is the smallest of the three PV-direct air conditioners in the ACDCBLW line, sized for a bedroom, a home office or a back room of 12 to 20 m². Its DC side takes a string of three to four 330 W modules at 80-380 V and under 10 A, so the compressor works on panel power through the hours the sun is doing the damage. The single-phase 208-240 V, 50/60 Hz connection covers the rest, and an AC power limiter settable from 0 to 600 W decides how much of that supply the unit may take. Rated cooling is 12,000 BTU, or 3,510 W at T1 for 940 W of input, an EER of 3.75/12.75. Under T3 conditions it still returns 9,900 BTU. The same box heats to 14,000 BTU at a COP of 3.50/11.95 and strips 1.3 L/h of moisture from the air, on R410A with an electronic expansion valve and a Highly WHP04200 twin-rotary variable-speed compressor.

Figures on this page are the manufacturer's own, measured at the test conditions the datasheet states — they do not change by country. What changes is the approval that has to be met before the unit is energised: in Iraq that is Ministry of Electricity Iraq. Key Features & Technical Highlights

  • Fed by three to four panels: A series string of 330 W modules at 80-380 V DC drives the unit directly, drawing under 10 A. The 208-240 V single-phase line stays as backup.
  • 12,000 BTU for 12-20 m²: Rated 3,510 W of cooling at T1 for 940 W drawn, an EER of 3.75/12.75. Output modulates between 3,000 and 13,300 BTU as the room load moves.
  • 14,000 BTU of heating too: Reverse-cycle heating rated 4,100 W at a COP of 3.50/11.95, so the same unit covers cold nights instead of a second appliance.
  • Under 42.5 dB indoors: A BLDC 15 W indoor fan with four speeds from 350 to 540 m³/h keeps the room side quiet; the outdoor unit stays below 52 dB.
  • AC limiter, 0 to 600 W: The grid draw can be capped anywhere between 0 and 600 W, so the AC side never asks for more than the supply behind it can give.
  • Three to six panel string: The 80-380 V DC input takes three to six 330 W modules in series, so the array can be sized to the roof rather than to a fixed count.
  • 17,300 BTU across 20-30 m²: 5,070 W of cooling at T1 for 1,400 W drawn, an EER of 3.60/12.35, with output tracking the load between 4,100 and 20,400 BTU.
  • 20,800 BTU of heat in winter: The reverse cycle is rated 6,100 W at a COP of 3.45/11.75, enough for the same 20-30 m² room it cools in summer.
  • 20 m of pipe reach: The outdoor unit can sit up to 20 m away with 10 m of level difference, on 1/2 in gas and 1/4 in liquid lines. Four metres of pipe and 5 m of wire are supplied.
  • 980 m³/h, under 46 dB: A BLDC 45 W indoor fan gives four airflow steps from 620 to 980 m³/h while the room side stays below 46 dB.
  • 22,000 BTU for 30-42 m²: 6,450 W of cooling at T1 for 1,790 W drawn, an EER of 3.60/12.30, modulating from 6,100 up to 27,000 BTU as the hall fills.
  • Up to eight 330 W panels: The series string can run from three to eight modules inside the 80-380 V DC window, so a bigger roof buys more solar hours on the same unit.

Frequently Asked Questions

What room size is the DGA2-ACDCBLW-12K rated for?

Deye gives it an application area of 12 to 20 m², which covers a typical bedroom, a home office or a small shop floor. Beyond 20 m² the 17,300 BTU DGA1-ACDCBLW-18K takes over.

How many solar panels does the DGA2-ACDCBLW-12K need?

Three to four 330 W modules wired in series. The DC input works over 80-380 V at under 10 A, so the string voltage has to land inside that window.

Can it run when the sun is not on the array?

It also accepts a single-phase 208-240 V, 50/60 Hz supply, so mains covers the hours the panels cannot. How much it may draw from that side is set by the 0-600 W AC power limiter.

How does it hold up in Gulf summer heat?

It carries a T3 as well as a T1 climate rating and works from -10 to 58 °C. At T3 it returns 2,910 W, or 9,900 BTU, for 1,050 W of input, an EER of 2.75/9.45.

How far apart can the indoor and outdoor units be?

Up to 15 m of refrigerant pipe with a level difference of no more than 8 m. Three metres of pipe and 4 m of connection wire are supplied; the gas and liquid lines are 3/8 in and 1/4 in.

Will the DGA1-ACDCBLW-18K cool a full living room?

It is rated for 20 to 30 m², which is a typical living room or majlis. Smaller rooms are better served by the 12,000 BTU DGA2-ACDCBLW-12K, and above 30 m² by the 22,000 BTU DGA1-ACDCBLW-24K.

How big a PV array does the DGA1-ACDCBLW-18K want?

Three to six modules of 330 W in series. The string has to sit inside the 80-380 V DC window, and the unit draws under 10 A from it.

What does it deliver in T3 heat?

In T3 conditions the unit produces 4,290 W, or 14,700 BTU, drawing 1,630 W for an EER of 2.65/9.00. Its working range runs from -10 to 58 °C.

Does it heat as well as cool?

Yes. Rated heating is 6,100 W, modulating between 1,200 and 6,800 W, for 1,770 W of input at a COP of 3.45/11.75.

How much moisture does it remove?

1.7 L/h of condensate, drained through a 16 mm pipe. An electronic expansion valve meters the R410A charge so the coil keeps dehumidifying at part load.
